Evolution Medical Care is a Penrith-based clinic of AHPRA-registered Chinese medicine practitioners, offering Acupuncture, Remedial Massage, Cupping, Trigger Point Therapy and Herbal Medicine. This page is for anyone involved in recovering from a workplace injury: the injured worker themselves, a family member helping them get to appointments and stay on track, or an employer or insurer case manager coordinating care. Treatment under a workers compensation claim typically needs a referral from your treating GP, naming us specifically, before we can start seeing you for it. If you’re not sure how that works, that’s completely normal: get in touch and we’ll talk you through it.
The Recovery Session
Every client sees one of our practitioners for a consistent, unhurried appointment. Rather than a fixed formula, your practitioner selects the treatment method, frequency and duration most likely to make a meaningful difference for you: Acupuncture, Remedial Massage, Cupping and Trigger Point Therapy are drawn on individually or in combination, and how often and for how long you’re seen is worked out the same way, based on the injury, how it’s presenting that week, and what stage of recovery you’re at.
A workers compensation claim isn’t always about a strain or sprain. Many workplace injuries are musculoskeletal: strains, overuse injuries, joint and soft tissue pain that limits movement and makes ordinary tasks harder. Others relate to the psychological impact of a workplace incident: stress, disrupted sleep, or low mood that can follow on from what happened. Whichever it is, your practitioner works with what’s actually affecting you, alongside whatever else your treating doctor or allied health team has in place.
What Makes It Different
- Focused on what’s affecting you. Whether that’s pain and restricted movement or the stress of recovering from a workplace incident, sessions are built around what’s actually going on for you, not a generic treatment plan.
- More time, more support. Appointments run at a pace that allows a proper conversation about how recovery is going, not just a quick treatment and out the door.
- Tailored beyond the session. Practitioners can suggest simple things to do, or avoid, between visits to support what’s being worked on in the clinic.
- Continuity of care. Where possible, you’ll see the same practitioner across your visits, so they get to know your injury and how you’re progressing rather than starting from scratch each time.
- A fast safety net. If something changes or flares up between scheduled sessions, get in touch and we’ll do our best to see you sooner rather than making you wait for the next booking.
- Reporting made simple. With your consent, we’re glad to provide progress updates to your case manager or insurer as part of the claim, so you’re not stuck relaying information back and forth yourself.

The Progress Review
Workers compensation claims typically need periodic evidence that treatment is helping and recovery is moving forward. From time to time, we’ll sit down with you for a slightly longer review appointment to check in properly on how things are tracking, rather than just continuing week to week on autopilot.
What It Includes
- A reassessment of your symptoms and function. Comparing how you’re moving and coping now against where things started.
- A goal set in your own words. What “better” looks like for you, whether that’s returning to a task at work, driving comfortably again, or simply sleeping without pain.
- A written summary you keep. A plain-language record of the review, for your own records or to bring to other appointments.
- A copy for your case manager or insurer, with your consent. So the people managing your claim have current, accurate information without needing to chase it.
